The Peckett & Sons company built a huge number of 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotives, 52 of which belonging to the 'E' class. E class designated locomotives are perhaps best known for their use on the Swansea Docks but they were also used by a wide number of other industrial railways. These diminutive shunters lasted in use right up until the 1970s.
