The fleet of MJA wagons were produced exclusively for Freightliner in the early 2000s. Primarily used for the transport of stone, minerals and aggregates, the wagons are almost always operated in pairs with buffers at one end and a bar coupling used at the other end. These vehicles are still widely used today, including on workings between Mountsorrel to Luton and Croft to Harwich. GB Railfreight have taken ownership of a number of MJA wagons and operate them alongside Freightliner.
