Heljan are producing a newly tooled range of LMS 50' Inspection Saloons in O gauge! This diverse range covers the full history of these iconic track inspection vehicles from the 1940s right through to the 1990s. These new models are exquisitely detailed, even featuring a full interior with chairs, tables, kitchen equipment, toilet and guards office equipment - there are even umbrella racks in the side corridor.


We expect these to arrive during Q3 2024. Please note that the samples shown here are pre-production and may be subject to revision.

Prototype Information

Used for engineers’ inspections, VIPs, meetings and district managers’ tours of network, these classic LMS vehicles had seated saloons at each end with large windows to give a good all round view of the line. Between the saloons was a toilet and a small kitchen for preparing meals.
