Hornby Model Railways R8089 The Anglian Train Set. For many people in the rural areas of East Anglia, the only way to get to the main towns and cities in the eastern counties of England was by train. There were several types of passenger train that served the Eastern corner of England, including small passenger trains usually pulled by a six wheeled locomotive of the larger variety that were hauled by the prestigious locomotives of the line. Quite often these trains were given their own name to reflect the area that they covered. This set was inspired by the rich period of passenger travel in the early 1950s when the steam train was a vital link to the outside world for those who lived in these rural areas. Produced for Argos Stores.

Comments: I purchased this set in 2007, after seeing the picture in the Argos catalogue, I bought it mainly for the Engine (B12 in express blue) and I am quite happy with the finish of the engine. The two coaches are beginning to show their age now, and the paint finish on my two is very heavy, and it obliterates some of the details on the coach sides.
I do not how well the loco performs as I haven't run it since I bought it.
